World cup 2010 - review after the event(spain)

I will review first the winning team "Spain"

Spain coming in was one of the strongest competitors to win the cup and it didn't need any Octopus to predict that they did.
The spanish team did face an initial hiccup in their first match loss to Switzerland by 1 goal. But the spaniards have came back as a team. The did recover From the blow to play very sensible football.
Never won by any big margin or so like the other counter parts , reaching the finals with only 7 goals in the tournament till then and one added in the final Spain was not the usual superpower. With teams like Portugal scoring 7 goals in a single match the winners couldn't see their names on the top scoring teams but the profilic striker David Villa of spain finised the cup as the leading goal scorer with 5 goal ( along with Muller , Diego forlan , Wesley Snijder).
This clearly shows that the teams strength was not in it's attack but was in its defence. Iker Casillas who also won the golden glove was the unsung hero in Spain's victory in the tournament. Casillas had a clean sheet in almost every game loosening the pressure from the team, showing his skill to lead form the front.
wonderful performances allround by the whole team make them worthy winners on the cup.
